INFO:
If you want awesome and affordable Asian food you should head to Grant Avenue in Norwood and visit Hokkaido for a wide selection of Chinese and Japanese cuisine from traditional dishes like the light and healthy seaweed and tofu soup with nutrient-rich seaweed with an umami taste and silky tofu in a seasoned broth, together with an impressive selection of sushi, wish in my opinion tastes just as delicious as many of the high-end overpriced restaurants in town that make you feel like you’re paying per grain of rice. Did you know sushi goes as far back as the 3rd century? It was initially just fish fermented with rice and salt to preserve it for months at a time. Another fun fact, typically when you order wasabi it’s actually horseradish, mustard, and green food colouring. To round off the meal I went for teriyaki chicken a popular Japanese dish that features grilled or broiled chicken glazed with a sweet and Savory teriyaki sauce. The sauce typically consists of soy, sake, sugar, and sometimes ginger or garlic. The meal was affordable, with the teriyaki coming out at R75 but if you know of a better Asian restaurant in South Africa, you need to plug it in the comments and like and follow me for more adventures
